Congratulations to the FBLA Team for their outstanding performance at Regional Competition in Morehead on March 4th! We had 29 students qualify for FBLA State Competition. What a wonderful effort from our students!

The last FBLA meeting of the year was held on Wednesday, May 20, in the Senior Lounge. The Advisers, Shirley Doughton and Sharon Huffman planned a surprise party for the members, which consisted of cake, pizza, chips, and drinks. Every member who participated in Region and State competition was recognized and received a certificate prepared by Mrs. Huffman. The three National qualifiers were also recognized, Lauren Cool, Shikha Sachdeva, and Billy Zoellers. Two of the qualifiers will be attending the National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, CA to be held June 25-28. They are Lauren Cool and Billy Zoellers. Billy Zoellers was also recognized for being nominated to "Who's Who in Kentucky FBLA."

On April 14-16 the Pikeville High School Chapter attended the Future Business Leaders of America State Leadership Conference at the Galt House in Louisville, KY. This chapter had eight members and two Advisers attending.
The eight members competed in team and individual competitive events. The conference is an exciting three days of intense competition with approximately a thousand members from schools across the state. Activities included workshops, guest speakers, officers, elections, an awards ceremony, and a dance.

The Governor's Cup is the state's premier academic event, involving over 20,000 students, nearly 1200 schools, and thousands of coaches, administrators, parents and community leaders who see the rewards gained from encouraging academic performance through properly structured and professionally administered academic competition.
